Inspiration
I've been wanting to make an eighteenth century costume for some time now, but first I had to make the undergarments. In my other dress diaries, I've detailed my progress in making the stays and pocket hoops. Now I need to make the petticoat. That is, the under-petticoat, since apparently all skirts were called petticoats in the 1700s. This is the skirt beneath the skirt, intended for modesty and poof-factor. Just to confuse things further, I'm also making a petticoat . . . that is, a skirt.
